INDUSTRIAL/COMMERCIAL X-RAY

Industrial X-Ray uses high intensity radiation primarily for component inspection of critical manufactured parts. The inspection of welds for example is of prime importance in any aircraft component or in the inspection of nuclear power plant piping. Manufactures of computer chips also require this type of X-Ray for the inspection of expensive microprocessing circuitry. Industrial applications require thicker lead or thicker lead-equivalent glass in lead lined wall material or shielded doors. Doors may also require borated polyethylene to shield from neutron scattering. GPS also manufactures several unique products required for this marketplace. These include:

Lead brick dimensions and thickness can be varied to meet shielding requirements.

Interlocking Lead Bricks
Interlocking lead bricks are used where the highest level of shielding is required and is usually called for in the nuclear power industry. Each brick is manufactured with four tongue and groove edges for interlocking. Dimensions and thickness vary according to the shielding requirements.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Virgin lead of 99.9% purity.
Custom manufactured to meet the requirements of the application.

Modular enclosure structurally independent of the host environment.

Lead Shielded Enclosure
Prefabricated modular lead shielded enclosures consist of free standing structural steel framed panels and one or more doors with optional control windows. Sections consist of steel-lead-steel panels fabricated with the required thickness of sheet lead. All edges are covered by steel. All modular panels incorporate lead joint strips.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Free standing structural.
Sheet lead thickness as required by the architect or radiological physicist.
Custom sizes available.
Proven ability to shield to .025 milli-roentgen/hr. (mr/hr.)

These cabinets are designed for use where smaller materials or components are inspected.

X-Ray Inspection Cabinet
Similar in structural design to modular enclosures but smaller in size these cabinets are used to isolate radiation from a surrounding area. Typically used for radiation inspection of small components, the isolation of radioisotopes or the protection of material in elevated radiation environments.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Custom sizes and shapes.
Standard sizes available for immediate delivery.
Lead thickness as specified.
